Gemini Pro in all supported languages and locales
Last December, we added the English version of Gemini Pro to Bard, giving Bard even more advanced understanding, reasoning, generalization, and programming capabilities. Today, Gemini Pro in Bard will be available in over 40 languages and more than 230 countries, allowing even more people to work with this faster, more powerful version of Bard.
The Large Model Systems Organization, a leading evaluator of language models and chatbots, recently expressed their preference for Bard with Gemini Pro, which they consider to be one of the most popular chatbots (paid or unpaid), and praised it for the "amazing progress" it has made. Our unbiased evaluation with third-party evaluators shows that Bard with Gemini Pro is one of the best-performing conversational AIs, both compared to its free and paid competitors.
Review in more languages
We understand the desire to validate the Bard's responses, so we're expanding our review feature to over 40 languages, a service that is already used by millions of English-speaking users. When you click on the Bard's "G" icon, it evaluates whether there is content on the Internet to support its response. If an evaluation is available, you can click on the highlighted words or phrases to learn more about supporting or refuting the response.
Realize your creativity with the image generation feature
To inspire your creativity, you can now generate images on Bard in English, available in most countries around the world and completely free of charge. This new feature is made possible by our new Imagen 2 model, which is designed to balance image quality and generation speed to produce high-quality, photorealistic images. Simply enter a description, such as "Generate an image of a dog on a surfboard", and Bard will generate customized, rich and diverse images to help bring your ideas to life.
Our image generation design adheres to AI principles and demonstrates accountability. For example, Bard embeds digital watermarks in the pixels of generated images by using SynthID to ensure that people can clearly distinguish between visual works created by Bard and original human artwork.
The goal of our technical safeguards and investment in training data security is to limit any form of violent, offensive or sexually explicit content. Also, the filters we use prevent the generation of images of known characters. We continue to invest in new technological tools to further enhance the performance of our models in terms of security and privacy protection.
