Kilo Code is an open source VS Code extension plugin based on artificial intelligence technology, developed by the Kilo-Org team. As a branch project of Roo Code, Kilo Code retains its excellent features while making several improvements: introducing Claude 3.7 Sonnet model support, providing 15,000 tokens for free use; enhancing the quality of code generation; and optimizing the task automation process. These improvements make Kilo Code a more powerful AI programming assistant.
All of the project's code is publicly available on GitHub, using an open source collaborative model that encourages the community to participate in development together. This is one of the key differences between it and Roo Code - a greater emphasis on community-driven and rapid iteration.
