Solution Overview
While Spill itself does not support automatic synchronization of content across devices, a near-seamless writing experience can be achieved by:
- Utilize cloud storage transit: copy Spill's content to cloud notes (e.g. Google Keep/Notion) or cloud documents (e.g. Google Docs) on a regular basis
- Set up browser bookmark synchronization: add Spill URLs to synchronized bookmark bar on all devices
- Create a transmission workflow: send drafts to yourself via email or instant messenger (e.g. Telegram/Slack)
Specific steps
1. Cloud Storage Solutions: After completing the writing on the computer side:
① Select all text (Cmd/Ctrl+A)
② Copy Content (Cmd/Ctrl+C)
③ Paste into a logged-in cloud document to save it
2. Mail Relay Program::
① Open the email app on your phone and create a draft in advance.
② Send the contents to this draft after the computer has finished writing.
③ Open the e-mail on the cell phone and continue editing
caveat
- Transfers need to be performed manually each time a device is switched
- It is recommended to use 1-2 transmission channels to form a habit.
- Double backup (cloud storage + local files) recommended for important content
