Useful tips to speed up your privacy search
Due to privacy engines like Brave, Lumo's real-time search may be 2-3 seconds slower than regular AI assistants. This can be improved in the following ways:
Network level optimization::
1. Use a VPN such as WireGuard to connect to a European server (Proton data center location)
2. Disable IPv6 on mobile (Android disable in Wi-Fi advanced settings)
3. Avoid using the search function during peak hours (14:00-18:00 UTC)
Interaction strategy adjustment::
- Try a basic answer without opening the search first, adding "Please network [specific question]" if necessary.
- Breaking down broad questions into specific sub-questions (e.g., replacing "latest AI advances" with "top three breakthroughs in NLP by 2024")
- Search in English (retrieval faster than other languages on average 171 TP3T)
Technical note: Latency mainly comes from the privacy engine's multi-proxy mechanism, which is a necessary price to protect search privacy. In extreme cases try switching to Orbot's Tor network mode.
