An expert program for handling complex music
For multi-instrument audio mixes such as symphonies, standard separation modes are often ineffective. Better results can be obtained by the following methods:
- Customized Separation Configuration::
1. Manually edit the spleeter/configuration.json file
2. Increase the resolution parameter of the strings group (change "size" of "strings" to 512)
3. Adjusting mask_extension values for woodwinds and brass - staged approach::
Run 5-track mode first to get basic separation → secondary processing for specific tracks (e.g., re-separation of the "other" track) - Using external plug-ins::
Import preliminary results into Melodyne for precise instrument identification
Caveats:
- 24bit/96kHz WAV raw files are recommended.
- Processing time may be 3-5 times longer, night batch processing is recommended
- For choral passages try lowering ffmpeg's compression_level.
