System extensions and community contribution mechanisms

As an Apache 2.0 licensed project, the MIRIX codebase contains three core modules: a visual capture service (mirix-capture), a memory processing engine (mirix-core), and a user interface (mirix-ui). Developers can extend new functionality through a standardized REST API, such as integrating OCR services to improve image recognition rates or adding new memory types to process audio recordings.

The project adopts a modular design, and key interfaces include: memory storage interface (to enable plug-in database support), visual processing middleware (to replace different screen analysis algorithms), and workflow execution engine (to support JavaScript/Python custom scripts). The community contribution process follows the standard GitHub workflow, and there are already 23 officially recognized third-party plug-ins, including Notion integration, multi-display support, and other extended features.

Enterprise users can also develop a private deployment version based on the SDK, and the system provides a Docker image to simplify the deployment process. Development documents explain the memory management strategy (using object pooling to reduce GC pressure), event bus design (based on RxJava to achieve module decoupling) and other architectural details.
