Lumo supports full conversational capabilities in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian, and its multilingual capabilities are demonstrated by: automatically detecting the input language and replying in the same language (no need to switch manually); understanding the idiomatic and cultural context of a given language; and maintaining the coherence of cross-lingual conversations. The technical implementation relies on its use of multilingual open-source models such as Nemo and OLMo 2 32B, which contain a large number of parallel corpora at the time of training. It is worth noting when using it: mixing inputs of different languages may lead to recognition bias; some specialized terminology may only be supported in English; and more language support will be added in future updates. This feature is especially suitable for cross-country communication, language learning and other scenarios.
