Building an intelligent screening system to identify potential products
Faced with a huge number of products that are updated daily, the following funnel screening method can be used:
- Initial screening of three elements:Check to see if the product has an official website (not a Landing Page), at least 3 months of updated records (verified by Wayback Machine), and team information is publicly available (LinkedIn is available)
- Deep validation metrics:Check the quality of user review interactions on the details page (whether the developer responds professionally), the frequency of version iterations (weekly updates are better than no updates for months), and the transparency of the tech stack (avoiding vague statements such as "uses proprietary algorithms")
- Categorical tracking method:For AI tools focus on the type of model (e.g., labeling the use of GPT-4 as superior to pan-AI offerings), and the degree of API openness; for SaaS offerings observe the pricing strategy (whether annual fee discounts are reasonable) and cancellation policies
Practical skills:Create a personal scorecard (10-point scale) containing innovativeness (3 points), feasibility (2 points), team background (2 points), and urgency (3 points), and products with scores ≥ 7 are worthy of in-depth trial. It is recommended to browse systematically at a fixed time every week (e.g. Tuesday afternoon) to avoid decision fatigue caused by fragmented browsing.
