Research Interaction Paradigm for Human-Machine Collaboration

The split-screen interface adopted by Open Researcher not only realizes visual partitioning, but also builds a complete human-computer collaboration workflow. The left chat area supports natural language interaction, while the right result area synchronizes the display of structured data. This design meets the dual-layer cognitive needs of researchers: they need to explore ideas conversationally, and also need to view the raw data for corroboration. Empirical tests show that the design improves the information comparison efficiency by 401 TP3T and reduces the number of user task switches by 751 TP3T.

The system provides three split-screen modes: a 7:3 research mode focusing on the analytical process, a 5:5 comparison mode suitable for multi-source validation, and a 3:7 writing mode for easy excerpt citation. The interface is based on React's responsive design, which is adaptive to all kinds of devices from cell phones to 4K monitors. Typical examples show that users can ask 'please compare the advantages and disadvantages of these three algorithms' on the left side while writing a paper, and relevant paper abstracts and experimental data are instantly displayed on the right side.
